Ever loved the idea of working in rural medicine, but just can’t relocate out of your urban centre? The Skin Cancer Doctor (TSCD) have opportunities for enthusiastic and experienced Skin Cancer Physicians to join our team and blend rural outreach work in with their usual clinical work.  

The Opportunity 

The Skin Cancer Doctor is a rural outreach program running clinics in rural & remote hospitals & medical centres in towns limited access to specialised skin cancer services. The clinics involve a doctor and nurse team flying from Brisbane/Sydney and then driving through a 3-4 town clinics, returning within 4-5days. The clinics are both for skin check and surgical treatment, and are prebooked with patients. There are currently 25 NSW towns in active service, and 30 in QLD (expanding to VIC).  

This is a unique opportunity involving travelling to very ‘authentic’ rural Australia locations, working with wonderful appreciative patients with genuine need for service, and gaining exposure to interesting surgical cases. All patients and their GP receive histopathology and followup letters shortly after clinic, and wound care support is facilitated through remote nurse support. 

TSCD clinics require flexibility to manage a varied schedule, being hospitable within our host clinics and hospitals, and the ability to travel. 

The Skin Cancer Doctor are interested in discussing with doctors who may be able to be commit to outreach clinics at either a small or large level.
